The State of Education

Studies show that 73% of students between the ages of 5 and 13  from urban communities are 1.5–2 grade levels behind. Moreover, students entering into high school are ill prepared. As a consequence, drop-out rates continue to rise which ultimately leads to higher crime rates and violence in our communities. Studies project that the social and economic position of African Americans will be at a permanent lower-class by the year 2030. We know that these statistics are directly connected to failing schools and a lack of concern for the next generation. Ascension Investment Group was created to change narrative and to build schools for future leaders and game changers.

Close achievement gaps so that our students graduate from high school ready to succeed in college and/or careers.

● Academic Achievement: The goal of education is comprehension and growth. We see education as doing what is best for kids. With that said, we will use all resources at their disposal to ensure the best possible student outcomes.
